This course helps you understand the relevant language and processes involved in the UK asylum system. You will consider the ways you can use a trauma-informed approach through your role to empower people to live fully integrated lives.

By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Understand definitions including asylum seeker, refugee and migrant
- Understand the reasons people seek asylum
- Recognise the different protection roots to the UK
- Be familiar with the UK Asylum Process and Home Office asylum support
- Be familiar with the rights and entitlements of asylum seekers and refugees
- Understand of the barriers people
- Consider ways you can use a trauma-informed approach to support people
