We’ve launched an Asylum Information Guide to help people seeking safety in Scotland on each step of their asylum journey.

The online resource is packed with information to support people at all stages in the asylum process.

It includes expert guidance to help people understand their rights and entitlements, what happens if a person is refused asylum, and the support available if you become appeal rights are exhausted.

Our Asylum Information Guide is also a useful resource for professionals and community organisations providing support for people in the asylum system.

It includes information on:

  • The stages of claiming asylum in the UK
  • Rights and entitlements during the process
  • What happens if an asylum claim is refused
  • Support for people whose appeal rights are exhausted

The guide is available in 21 languages. It aims to help people understand their situation and the options open to them, by providing clear and accessible information at what can be a confusing and complex time.

You can view the Asylum Information Guide here.
