We’re delighted to launch Arts Open, an exciting opportunity for artists from refugee backgrounds to take part in Refugee Festival Scotland.

Arts Open will help three emerging artists with lived experience of the refugee and asylum system to present their work at this year’s festival in June.

The initiative is open to individuals and groups working in every creative discipline – from fine art, film, music and performance to crafts, design, writing and spoken word.

Arts Open aims to help artists who are seeking refugee protection, share their existing work with new audiences in Scotland.

Successful applicants will receive funding and support to showcase their art at a specially designed Refugee Festival Scotland event. This could take the form of an exhibition, installation, film screening, live performance, workshop, publication or digital presentation.

To apply, you must live in Scotland and have personal experience of seeking safety in the UK.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday, 1 March. Find out more and apply here.
