Scottish Refugee Council has secured funding to support refugee-led community groups and local groups supporting New Scots during the pandemic.
The Covid19 pandemic has affected the lives of everyone in Scotland. For the most vulnerable of our communities, this has resulted in additional challenges over and above the effects on the general population.
To help address these challenges and support refugee communities, Scottish Refugee Council has secured funding generously made available to us from Foundation Scotland and National Emergencies Trust.
If you want to participate and would like to apply for a Small Grant of between £1000 and £5000 to address the identified community needs of Digital poverty; Social isolation; Protection of the elderly / self-isolating; and Hardship, health and benefit advice, please fill out an application before the deadline at 11:59pm on Wednesday 13th May 2020.
Jewels Lang, Community Development Manager:
“Coronavirus has affected the lives of everyone in Scotland, and we know that community support networks are so vital in ensuring that nobody is left behind as a result. This funding will help address some of the challenges faced by our New Scots communities during this time.”
