Refugee Festival Scotland is a unique community and arts festival dedicated to achieving positive and lasting social change. Co-ordinated by Scottish Refugee Council, the festival is held across Scotland every June and provides a platform for refugee communities to showcase their skills, talents and cultures and to tell new, more positive stories about integration and diversity in Scotland. In 2024, the festival will run from 14th – 23rd June.
We are looking for a Programming Fellow to join our team and develop a strand of the 2024 festival. Supported by Creative Scotland, the fellowship is presented as a learning and development opportunity for gaining hands-on experience in festival programming and programming operations. The Fellow should have a demonstrated interest in the arts and themes of migration, but no programming experience is required. The Fellow will work closely with the festival team and will be supported to develop and deliver a programme of events.
We invite applications from all arts backgrounds and specialisms, including music, performing arts, film, poetry, visual arts, heritage and socially engaged practice. Applicants should have lived experience of seeking refugee protection.
This role will be subject to basic disclosure Scotland.

Selection process:
Applications will be reviewed by Scottish Refugee Council. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an in person or online interview with a selection panel comprising minimum one panellist belonging to a refugee community.
Applications will be selected based on the applicant’s demonstrated interest in arts programming and themes of forced migration, plus their potential to develop professionally through the fellowship.
