Scottish Refugee Council is committed to assisting asylum seekers and refugees to settle into life in Scotland. Each aspect of our vital work requires funding for salaries, for project costs, and much more. Being a part of the Funding Development team is an opportunity to ensure that the programmes that support refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland have the resources needed to function. This opportunity would also provide the successful candidate with a range of in-demand experience useful for someone seeking a career within the charity sector.
What will I be doing?
Duties will be varied but will include:
- Writing funding applications on behalf of Scottish Refugee Council to charitable trusts and foundations
- Creating project reports send to send to funders
- Assisting with record keeping on grant funding activity
- Responding to internal and external enquires on grant funding
What skills or qualities do I need?
This post will require somebody who:
- An understanding of and commitment to refugee rights issues
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience in using outlook, word, excel and databases
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written content, including essays, articles, blogs, or similar forms of communication is desirable.
