Last week marked the end of our first ever New Scots Leadership programme in Glasgow.
In partnership with Social Enterprise Academy, we have supported a group of new Scots in Glasgow and the surrounding areas to develop their existing leadership skills and make new connections.
The group met twice a month for six months, and will now take their learnings to their wider communities across Scotland.
Congratulations to all those who participated in this first cohort! New friendships were made, and we loved seeing everyone grow in confidence as the workshops went on. We wish everyone luck in their leadership journey to make the world a better place.
When the workshops began six months ago, Sabir Zazai, Chief Executive at Scottish Refugee Council said:
“Community leaders play such a vital role in our society, building bridges and breaking down barriers. At such a difficult time for refugee rights in the UK, programmes like this are a lifechanging opportunity to build new skills, make new connections and build the welcoming future for refugees that we want to see.
