Community InfoSource works with marginalised communities in Glasgow, primarily with refugees and people seeking asylum, to help put their ideas into action. We are a community-led organisation, founded on principles of human rights and equalities.
Our three projects are:
- Challenging Violence Against Women (CVAW)
- Asylum Seeker Housing project (ASH)
- Wellbeing Project
Challenging Violence Against Women (CVAW) is the only project of its kind in Scotland. It is a team of men working in partnership with men in BAME communities to challenge attitudes and practices around gender inequality. The project promotes equality and human rights, and works to raise awareness of FGM, honour-based violence and other gender-based violence.
The Asylum Seeker Housing project (ASH) assists people seeking asylum in reporting housing issues, and empowers individuals by raising awareness of rights and responsibilities.
The Wellbeing Project works with refugees and people seeking asylum to help build social connections, and promote mental and physical wellbeing. It offers volunteer-led activities such as group walks and visits to places of interest. The project also provides regular ESOL and digital inclusion classes, and offers opportunities for volunteering and learning new skills.
