Edinburgh City Mission’s ‘Salaam’ project supports refugees and people seeking asylum who live in the city. This includes English Conversation Cafés, crafts courses, befriending, New Scots Christmas Appeal and more.
We also provide support to the churches who are involved in welcoming New Scots.
We chose the name Salaam (Arabic for ‘peace’ and ‘hello!’) because we aim to foster a peaceful, loving and welcoming environment in Edinburgh for those who have been forced to leave their homes due to violence and war.
