LINKnet Mentoring is a dedicated organisation established to support minority ethnic communities in Edinburgh, the Lothians, the Scottish Borders, and Fife. Our aim is to assist disadvantaged ethnic minorities in achieving their development goals. Over the years, many individuals have participated in our mentoring programmes, with education and employment mentoring being our core offerings.
What is Mentoring?
Mentoring is a process in which an experienced, knowledgeable, and trained individual supports the development of another person.
Becoming a Mentee
Becoming a mentee is open to anyone from a minority ethnic group who wishes to use LINKnet’s services to seek employment or access further or higher education.
Becoming a Mentor
Anyone from any community with the knowledge and skills to assist others in employment and education can become a mentor. A mentor commits to one day of training and agrees to support their assigned mentee for 2 to 3 hours per week, for a maximum of six months. LINKnet staff provide necessary support and supervision to mentors throughout this process.
All our services are offered free of charge.
