Diabetes Awareness Family Fun Day
Our Diabetes Awareness Family Fun Day at Paisley's Lagoon Leisure Centre aimed to promote and give practical advice to families on making healthier lifestyle choices and thereby reducing their risk of developing diabetes.
We had a range of activities for children including a bouncy castle, dance lessons and football practice under the guidance of professional coaches. Adults had the opportunity to try pedalling activities on a static bicycle, make healthy smoothies, and take part in fitness and dance activities. We were also joined by speakers from Diabetes Scotland, Stroke Scotland, Renfrewshire Leisure, including keynote speaker, Professor Martin Mclntyre, Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
The event was generally positively received, with participants commenting that they found it informative as well as fun.
