The Connecting New Scots project, run by Your Voice, has been welcoming families and individuals from multicultural backgrounds since 2017.
Every Friday, from 11am to 1pm, we host a drop-in session—a friendly and relaxed space where friendships are formed, and experiences are shared.
During these sessions, we sometimes invite various organisations to meet with Inverclyde’s New Scots, connecting people with a range of services and organisations in the area.
We also provide 1-to-1 meetings with families and individuals to offer more tailored support. This has helped many secure employment, take up volunteering roles, enrol in college, and address a variety of personal needs.
Additionally, we organise bespoke group activities that bring diverse cultures together, such as social bike rides, art classes, hill walks, film-making, creative writing, bring-and-share food days, and much more.

Inverclyde Community Care Forum (ICCF)
We focus on increasing community cohesion in Inverclyde. Through music we seek to advance people's skills and confidence, and encourage awareness of each other's cultures. Your Voice also holds weekly drop-in sessions that encourages New Scots families to come together in a safe, central and familiar place where they can find out about other projects and services that may be helpful to them. This is a collaborative project between Your Voice and Access Technology Scotland funded by the Big Lottery.
