We’ve launched our winter appeal to support people rebuilding their lives in Scotland.

“Scottish Refugee Council helped me transform fear into hope, and hope into a new life. Everyone deserves that chance.” – Comfort, a previous SRC client.
As winter approaches, families and friends across Scotland prepare to come together, share food, and celebrate.

At the same time, many men, women and children have been forced to flee their homes and leave everything they know behind.

Across the country, people are beginning again with nothing — without safe housing, without a support network, and without the chance to be reunited with loved ones. They cannot choose to get together with family or share a meal with friends.

In a climate of increasing hostility and division, solidarity and welcome have never been more vital.

People seeking safety should not face further fear, isolation, or scapegoating. We all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Please support our winter appeal and help people who have arrived in Scotland with nothing to create a safe future for their families.

When Sara* was injured in a bombing that destroyed her home in Syria, she and her 9-year-old daughter Mariam* had no choice but to flee. They arrived in Scotland frightened, traumatised, and unsure where to turn.

With support from Scottish Refugee Council advisors, Sara and Mariam gradually began to rebuild their lives.

“We were lost until we got help from Scottish Refugee Council. With their support, slowly, slowly, step by step we started to feel more safe and secure. Scotland is home for us now. I’m not worried or scared anymore. I feel positive about our future.”

Your donation will ensure that people like Sara and Mariam can access advice, support and a warm welcome as they begin again in safety.

This winter, please help someone find safety, hope, and a fresh start.
