A demonstration has been planned in Glasgow’s city centre to encourage people to Stand up to Racism.

Protests will also take place in London and Cardiff as part of UN Anti-Racism Day.

The event will place on Saturday the 18th March and begins at George Square.

With far-right protests and increased hostility towards people seeking protection, it is incredibly important to stand in solidarity against hate speech, division and racism.

Speakers at the event will include our CEO Sabir Zazai, human rights activist and Maryhill Integration Network co-ordinator Pinar Aksu and STUC Black Workers Committee chair Talat Ahmed.

SUTR said: “The ‘Rwanda plan’, racist deportations and the hostile environment for refugees and
migrants are all about scapegoating.

“We demand safe passage and an end to deportations. We say #RefugeesWelcome.”

When: Saturday 18th March, 11am

Where: George Sq, Glasgow
