David Simpson

As a recently retired senior leader in a large Scottish local authority, David brings a range of relevant skills and experience to the Board, particularly to the dispersal of refugees and those in the asylum system across Scotland’s local authorities.

David has significant experience in social housing, homelessness and Community Learning and Development and led Dundee City Council’s Housing and Communities service for the last seven years of his local authority career, prior to retirement.

David established and led the City’s award-winning Humanitarian Protection service, working closely with Scottish Refugee Council in a very successful partnership.

Originally from Northern Ireland, David is also a non-Executive Director of Alpha Housing Association based in Belfast.
