Find out how to take part and get involved. Amber In 2021 we worked with two artists to mark World Refugee Day and the 70th anniversary of the UN Refugee Convention. Creative writing for performance During lockdown we held a series of online workshops with artists and activists to explore writing for performance with playwright, Sara Sharaawi. Rubble Theatre For Refugee Festival Scotland 2019 we co-commissioned artist Manaf Halbouni to create a piece of public art in Glasgow city centre. Freedom of Movement In 2019 we commissioned artist Iman Tajik to create two pieces of public art exploring freedom of movement. Disruption and Belonging Over the course of a number of months in 2019, we worked collaboratively with Scottish-based artists and cultural practitioners with lived experience of seeking refugee protection, and whose work is helping shape the changing cultural landscape of Scotland. Processions In 2018 we worked with female artists from refugee backgrounds to explore women’s rights and political engagement from an international perspective. Share My Table In 2017-18 we co-produced Share My Table, a live performance and visual art exhibition created by a diverse group of people from the refugee community in Glasgow. Lest We Forget In 2016 we worked with new and established Scots to research and document the arrival, reception and experiences of Belgian refugees in Scotland during the First World War. A View From Here A View From Here (2014) was a multi-disciplinary arts and heritage project telling the stories of new and local Scots living in two blocks of high flats in Glasgow.
