Our Refugee Support Service has launched a new and improved map of refugee-supporting groups in Scotland, making it easier for people to find help in their local area.

The New Scots Connect Map is an online directory of groups and organisations offering services and support to refugees and people seeking asylum.

First launched in 2018, this important resource has been redesigned to improve the user experience. It is now quicker and  easier for people to look for everything from information and advice to ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) classes, befriending services, social activities and specialist support.

Scottish Refugee Council’s policy officer, Callum Macdonald said:This map is a vital tool in ensuring people seeking refugee protection in Scotland know where to turn for help and how to connect with their communities.

“Grassroots groups play such an important role in welcoming New Scots and supporting the process of integration. By providing information and offering activities that bring people together to share and celebrate their cultural heritage, they nurture a sense of belonging and community membership.”

The map features 183 listings from across Scotland. Just enter your location to look for groups near you. You can also search by type of support, for example, women’s groups or sports activities. Search the map.

Groups and organisations wishing to join our New Scots Connect network should contact one of our five Regional Integration Coordinators . Find out more about our Refugee Support Service and how we’re helping people rebuild their lives in communities across Scotland.
