Edinburgh College’s ESOL community courses support individuals whose first language is not English, teaching essential skills for living, working, and studying in the UK. Our flexible, part-time courses are available during the day or evening, allowing you to balance studies with work and school commitments.
We assess your English level to place you in the appropriate class, from beginners to Higher. We also offer reading and writing workshops. Classes are held at community centres, libraries, and other local venues, including Tollcross, Dalry, Cameron Toll, Pilton, Craigmillar, Wester Hailes, Leith, Drummond, and Newington.
For those unable to attend classes, we offer in-home volunteer tutors. These courses also provide the chance to gain accredited SQA ESOL qualifications. We collaborate with local community groups, agencies, and charities to deliver these courses.
