Al-Amal project is the refugee-led community development organisation which was constituted in Aberdeenshire in 2016 in response to the needs of families being resettled there as part of the United Nations Vulnerable Peoples Relocation Scheme.
The project is led by an elected committee of 9 individuals who work to an Annual Development Plan addressing the issues which face the ‘New Scots’ families in Aberdeenshire – learning English; finding employment; and developing projects that build on the skills and needs of the families and which facilitate integration with the local community.
