RefugeesWelcomePledge

In the run-up to this year’s surprise General Election, we are determined to stand up for people in need of refugee protection.

In a world where violence forces hundreds of families to flee their homes every day, it is more important than ever to show that we care about the situation facing refugees.

We need to make our voices heard – now.

That’s why we’ve joined forces with Refugee Action and British Refugee Council to develop a Refugees Welcome Pledge. We want all candidates bidding for our votes in this General Election to sign up to the pledge. By signing, candidates pledge to remember the importance of refugee protection in election debates and, if elected, to uphold the proud tradition of welcoming refugees across the UK.

The Refugees Welcome Pledge:

I pledge to respect the importance of refugee protection, including in wide-ranging debates about immigration, and, if elected, to uphold the proud tradition throughout the UK of welcoming people forced to flee war and persecution and helping them rebuild their lives.

Help us convince as many candidates as possible to sign the Refugees Welcome Pledge before the election.

Act now – ask your candidates to sign the pledge

Together, we can send a clear message to Westminster politicians that they must commit to welcoming and protecting refugees.
