Thank you to everyone who has donated, fundraised or supported our Refugee Week Appeal so far. Refugee Week 2012 has come to a close but there’s still time to get involved – our Appeal continues until 20 July.  Please donate.

Meet our supporters

Ever wondered why people support the work we do? Check out our videos to hear from supporters like Janet who shares why she regularly supports our vital work.  And in his video our Chief Executive John Wilkes highlights the importance of supporting our Appeal.

Join our 48 hour challenge

Up for helping us continuing our vital work helping refugees? Your challenge – should you choose to accept it – is to raise £50 in the next 48 hours towards our Refugee Week Appeal. Need a little help?  See our fundraising tips (258Kb, PDF) or give me a call on 0141 223 7921; I’m always happy to chat.

And for your efforts – all you champion fundraisers will receive a Refugee Week t-shirt as a thanks.

Be inspired to give

We’ve had a great response so far for our Refugee Week Appeal  but we’re hoping to do more before 20 July. A few things I’d like to share to encourage and inspire:

  • A local Jewish organisation organised a collection in aid of Scottish Refugee Council. I’d like to thank them for choosing to support us – they raised a fantastic sum of £918.
  • Sirinya turned unwanted jewellery into a £20 donation for Scottish Refugee Council – what could you do with your jewellery?
  • Our first ever fundraising event, a Roller Disco, took place on 15 June, raising almost £1,500. This lively event was well supported by staff and volunteers, partner organisations and individuals. Check us out on Flickr to see all the fun in photos.
  • Our use of memes (visual posters) on Twitter and Facebook have helped us to raise awareness and funds – in particular our rather cheeky Daily Mail meme that got people showing support by texting RWSC12£3 to 70070.

Thank you

Whether you’ve text donated, fundraised, attended a Refugee Week event or told friends/family about the vital nature of our work, thank you for supporting Scottish Refugee Council and our Refugee Week Appeal.
