Talking about the sort of advice and information we can give

We’ve now done three programmes at Radio Kilimanjaro as part of their fortnightly Community Matters advice slot, on Wednesday lunchtimes.

As part of my role as media and communications officer, I’ve gone along to the station each time with a member of our advice team to help them with their live interviews and ensure we get the right advice and information across to the Radio Kilimanjaro listeners.

Great advice from our staff

This job has been made very easy, thanks to our staff, who all know their subjects inside out, and of course to the team at Radio Kilimanjaro, Lorna, Guy and Jean-Michel who are all true professionals.

This week, one of our advice workers Esther Muchena gave some important advice and information about what to do if you’re going through the asylum process; everything from how to get financial support from the home office, to how to get in touch with a new solicitor if your case hasn’t gone the way you hoped.

Listen again to this week’s show

You can listen again to Esther today, Thursday 20th October at 3pm, by logging on to the Radio Kilimanjaro website and clicking the ‘Listen Live’ icon.

Listen out for more Radio Kilimanjaro shows, with advice from Scottish Refugee Council staff, every other Wednesday from 12 noon – 12.30pm. The next slot will be about Section 4 support, and will air on Wednesday 2nd November.
