Curious
Curious illuminates many stories

The Curious exhibition in St Mungo Museum is a celebration of the diversity of the people and collections of Glasgow. Created by groups and individuals across the city, we have worked with many groups including ESOL students, a Sharing of Faiths group and Young Possil Futures.

People chose objects from Glasgow Museums collections and shared their stories about them. We have worked with long-standing communities, asylum seekers and refugees who have used the objects to explore the differences and similarities between different cultures.

Multilingual tours

Recently, we have been working with a fantastic team who will be giving tours of the Curious exhibition in their own languages; Arabic, Farsi, Russian, Polish and Urdu. The group will be working in pairs and will share personal stories and memories sparked by the Curious objects. They will be talking about their countries and cultures and inviting visitors to participate and share something from their own cultures.

There will be tours on Saturday the 16 and the 23 to celebrate Refugee week.

Curious is part of the Scottish Project.  The Scottish Project has been funded by Legacy Trust UK, creating a lasting impact from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by funding ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK and by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.
