I am scared and confused

The following poem was written in Dungavel by Benedicto Chakana who currently remains in detention

Feelings rearranged

I wake up in morning and I ask myself,
Is life worth living or should I blast myself?
Cops trying to apprehend me, saying I have breached the peace,
I am angry and pissed off because I am a man of peace,
Told them that this is disgusting,
But they said, it’s my fault ‘cause I am just obscene.
Arrested me during bold day light, put in a spotlight,
All because they don’t give a damn about people’s rights!

Now I am alone in a jail cell,
For a long spell,
Feels like I am in hell,
Alone in my cell, afraid in my head,
Anger inside me, I am better off dead.
I am scared and confused,
Because my rights have been abused.

My mood has changed,
My feelings rearranged,
Slept alone all night long,
Realising this is where I belong.
It will take long to mend,
This anger inside me, I can not pretend.
I was walking on a thin line,
And things will never be fine
