RCOs – heart and soul of their communities

The importance of the work of Refugee Community Groups (RCOs) cannot be underestimated.

These vital organisations are the heart and souls of their communities; bringing people together; allowing them to begin rebuilding their lives, share experiences and problems and help their organisation to move forward.

Join us on 31 March

Our latest programme of workshops is finishing up and we’re inviting Refugee Community Organisations to our final skills sharing workshop this Saturday 31 March, 10am – 2pm.  Everyone is welcome – whether you’ve worked with us before or want to work with us in the future.

Share experiences – learn from others

This event is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet other RCOs – share your experiences and learn from others about:

  • successful action planning
  • Essential committee skills
  • How to make those important funding applications
  • Planning for the future

Develop skills to take your projects forward

We work with a wide range of RCOs in Scotland – and our workshops have helped them to develop skills to take their projects forward successfully.

We’ve had the pleasure of working closely with two dedicated and inspirational RCOs for the past six months: Eritrean Community Residing in Scotland (ECRS) and Cameroonian Association and Sympathisers in Scotland (CAMASS).

We want to hear from you

At our latest workshop ECRS and CAMASS will share what it’s been like working with us.   But learning has been a two-way process – so we’ll also be sharing what we’ve learned throughout the programme.  And we’re also keen to improve as we go so let us know what can we do to support you.

David Allan from Scottish Community Development Centre will be joining us to let us know about support on offer to community organisations. They’ll even be a prize draw for at the end of the day.

Hope to see you there!
